The Scotts Tie The Knot!

On September 2, 2012 Megan Nix and David Scott exchanged vows, rings and ‘I Do’s’ at The Village Hall.  The wedding was both simple and elegant as the couple celebrated with family and friends.  With the guests seated and Train’s “Marry Me” playing, Megan joined her father at the foot of the stairs.  A look of nerves and uncontained excitement stretched across her face in a smile.  Her joy was infectious as we watched Megan marry her best friend David.

The two were introduced by one of their mutual friends {who just so happened to be a bridesmaid!} while in college.  David and Megan have been going strong from the first date to the altar.  Clearly this friend has a knack for matchmaking!  Both natives of Georgia, the duo wanted a ceremony that was personal to them.

Nothing was more personal to this UGA Alum than to have bulldawg red for her bridesmaids’ dresses and accents.  Megan’s uncle also performed the ceremony, which took place on his own anniversary.  To celebrate, he called his own wife to the altar to give her a rose.  What a beautiful day for the entire family!

With their monogrammed cupcakes and personalized ‘Bride’ and ‘Groom’ Tervis Tumblers, Megan and David made sure that the celebration was uniquely their own.  They enjoyed cutting a rug and mingling with friends and family at the reception.  Perhaps the most popular stop at the reception was the photo booth.  Take a look at some of our favorite shots!

The night was complete on a sweet note with a decked out candy buffet.  All of the guests tapped into their inner-child while filling up paper cartons with their favorite treats and goodies.  What a delightful party favor for all!

Megan and David look forward to their cruise this December where they will continue to enjoy married life.  The Georgia Club wishes the Scotts a lifetime of happiness, and we loved being a part of their big day!

Natalie Reeder and Jackie Gibson- September 1, 2012

On Saturday, September 1st, The Georgia Club hosted the beautiful wedding of Natalie Reeder and Jackie Gibson. Without a cloud in the sky, it was perfect (and hot!) weather for an outdoor ceremony. The theme of the wedding was “Country Meets Class”, with the color scheme of white and black with red accents. The ceremony was beautiful, with the bridal party dressed in black tuxedos and gorgeous black floor-length dresses. But no one up-staged the bride, as Natalie’s white and strapless wedding gown was absolutely stunning!

The ceremony was very personal, as the bride and groom both put their own touch on it. Jackie wore his signature cowboy hat, and Natalie surprised the entire crowd by singing a beautiful song as she walked down the aisle with her father. Jackie’s best man was Drew Oliver, and Natalie’s Maid of Honor was Melanie Howard and the Matron of Honor was Kelly Bellah. The bridal party included Gloria White, Cody Bellah, Catherine Coleman, Clint Kerns, Kristin Coleman, Kaleb Sailors, Holly Kerns, Ross Slizewski, Meredith Franklin, Tim Edwards, and Drew Franklin. The flower girl, Lendon Reeder, and ring bearer, David Gray, were as cute as can be!

After Jackie and Natalie finally said “I Do,” the bridal party danced out and got the party started! While the bridal party and families took pictures outside, the guests socialized and enjoyed themselves in The Georgia Club Ballroom. The Presentation of Mr. and Mrs. Gibson kicked off the reception, and the bridal party had a blast as they coordinated dances for their entrance to the song “Party Rock Anthem.”  Natalie and Jackie looked over the moon as they walked out together as husband and wife. They danced their first dance to “I Believe in You and Me” by Whitney Houston, sang by one of Natalie’s friends Nicole Wilder.

Following the dance, Natalie’s father, Jeff Reeder, welcomed all their guests and gave a wonderful and heartfelt blessing. The buffet dinner was absolutely delicious, and guests enjoyed themselves as they ate and socialized.

The ballroom was decorated beautifully, with red, white and black hanging decorations, as well as red and black in the feather centerpieces that were a fun touch! After all the guests finished dinner, it was time for dessert! The wedding cakes were very unique- the bride’s cake had pictures imprinted on the icing of moments during Natalie and Jackie’s life, and Jackie’s was a cowboy hat! It was another personalized touch that made Natalie and Jackie’s wedding so special.

After the cake was cut, and guests enjoyed their slice, Natalie and Jackie had their dances with their father and mother. It was a beautiful moment, as they both danced to songs that were perfect for the moment, including “Cinderella.” With the dance floor in the center of the room, the guests danced the night away as the DJ played such fun songs. Everyone was having a blast, especially when Natalie tossed the bouquet to the song “Single Ladies.”

As the night wound down, guests went home with custom-made lollipops they picked up out of cowboy boots. As Natalie and Jackie departed, their guests lined up leading the way to the golf cart held up sparklers to say goodbye to the newly-weds. Jackie and Natalie held hands as they departed, and began their adventure as husband and wife.

The wedding was both personal and beautiful, and The Georgia Club had a wonderful time hosting the event. Congratulations Natalie and Jackie! We wish you a lifetime of happiness!
